Graduate Medical Education
Welcome to AllianceHealth Durant! Our family medicine residency program offers a supportive environment where residents can fulfill their fullest potential as clinicians, educators and leaders with a special focus on serving rural populations. We have been training residents in rural Oklahoma since 1997.
AllianceHealth Durant offers a family medicine residency program where the faculty and staff are dedicated to the training of highly skilled and compassionate physicians, capable of thriving in the most demanding clinical and academic environments. We have high expectations of the faculty, nurses and ancillary staff, and hold students and residents to the same high standards. We also recognize the important contributions that each one makes to the success of our program and to the quality of health care delivered to patients.
AllianceHealth Durant includes the main hospital and emergency department, as well as an ambulatory surgery center and AllianceHealth Medical Group, a multi-disciplinary group practice that includes orthopedics, general surgery, women’s health, and urology. Residents are supported by a range of clinical services, including nurses, phlebotomists, radiology technicians, case managers, pharmacists, allied health professionals and nutritionists. Residents are exposed to robotic surgery, as well as interventional cardiology, a wide range of orthopedic procedures and complex medical cases on the hospitalist service.
Because AllianceHealth Durant draws patients from surrounding rural communities, residents learn to manage a broad range of medical issues, and care for patients of varying age, demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
